Mexico has all kinds of interesting things to do. One of which is the brilliant archaeological park Xcaret (the Mayans pronounce it Ish-caret). The morning after my very first night shift, Suse and I went there on an excursion. Since we dock in Cozumel, we just took a short ferry ride over to the mainland (Playa del Carmen) then a private bus took us to the park. The first adventure was an underground river which we swam through with life jackets on. It was really cool, parts of it were very dark, the tunnel got narrower in places and wider in places, and there were lots of interesting rocks and plants to see along the way. After exiting the river we went for a lovely Mexican lunch, more of a feast really, before exploring the rest of the park. Check it out here:
