Just Catch a HoHo

Call me a tourist, but when you’re only in a port for a certain amount of time, and you only get paid a certain amount of money and you want to see everything you possibly can, the Hop On Hop Off (or HoHo as we call them) is a really fantastic option. A friend of mine recently scoffed at me for my mainstream choice of port exploration; however she is fortunate enough to live in a very amazing city that she gets to explore every day. I would never take a HoHo at home in Victoria, however I only get to see these cities 6 or 7 times, and some of those days I have very limited time. My friend Vasi and I took a HoHo around Copenhagen the other day and had a wonderful time. The really fantastic thing about the HoHo buses is whole hopping off business (and the free wifi!!). You can just get off whenever you want and wander around some more. We had a vague plan of where we wanted to go, but mostly just wanted to see things we hadn’t seen yet. So we followed along on the map, listened to the auto guide and learned things about Copenhagen. The other really cool thing that some companies offer is deals or discounts when you take more buses. So if we take one in Denmark, then another in Russia, we’ll get a discount on the one in Tallinn, after a certain number I believe you get one for free, but every company is different. Some lines even offer extra discounts to crew members, which we like very much. So far I haven’t had a chance to take one anywhere else, but Copenhagen was a great success. I think the next one will be Helsinki!!
