Irresistible Treasures in Unforgettable Places

In Uncategorized on August 29, 2013 at 9:38 pm

A while back I was roaming the medieval city of Tallinn, Estonia and I found the most amazing little shop with handmade jewellery created with items from the Baltic. Hand blown glass, and pieces of amber in particular. The lady who ran the shop didn’t speak much English but enough to tell me about some of the pieces. Including the fact that she made most of them herself and those that she didn’t make were made by other locals. There were so many beautiful ones, but of course I could only choose a few treasures to come home with me. Tough decision making at its finest!! In the end I found a few perfect pieces and hurried to my floating home clutching my new friends. Every time I’ve worn them they make me happy and I get so many compliments! Check out this lovely lady’s shop in Tallinn or, if you don’t happen to be in the area, try http://www.siidilabor.com

Beautiful Chaos

In Wedding on August 21, 2012 at 7:52 pm

Well, I leave the country again in a week, and my sister gets married in 6 days! It’s been so hectic around here trying to get everything done in time. That being said, I’m very grateful to past Erica for being so very organized and having all the little details worked out for me so that future Erica pretty much only has to pack. Phew! Sorry I’ve been absent for so long, but once I live on a cruise ship I’ll have lots of time to blogĀ  (in theory)! I wanted to share some photos I took of my lovely sister (who’s work you can check out here) Alana, who’s wedding I could not be happier about. I am so very excited for this new chapter in her life, she’s my best friend and I adore how happy she is. These photos were taken at her bridal shower when we tested out some jewelery, and drank mimosas and tried on saris! I absolutely adore other cultures and I’ve learnt a lot about the Indian way of life this week, amazing traditions, fantastic food, and so many shiny things!! How can you not love it!!
